Free forever. No account. Runs on your device.

Lock focus on what you're actually studying.

AutoFocus keeps you on your course until the timer ends or your goal is done. Searches that help your goal go straight through. The YouTube spiral, the feeds and the "just one more video" don't load.

Works in Chrome, Edge, Brave and Arc. The Mac app is optional.

The spiral

One doubt. Ninety minutes gone. One doubt. Six minutes. Back.

It starts with a real question on YouTube. Then the sidebar takes over. Keep scrolling to watch the same morning twice.

Try it

Type what you'd search. See what happens.

This box runs the real AutoFocus relevance engine, right in this page. Nothing is sent anywhere.

Your goal
Goes straight through

Matches your goal, so the search opens normally.

01

Instant rules

Your study site always opens. Feeds and streaming sites are held. Docs, Q&A sites and references are always fine.

02

Offline keyword engine

Your goal becomes hundreds of topic terms. Searches and page titles are checked against them in microseconds.

03

On-device AI, only when unsure

Chrome's built-in model judges the unclear ones on your computer. No model? In Strict mode, you say how it helps.

How a session works

Set it once. Then just study.

STEP 1

Name the goal

Pick your course site and end on a timer, or when your checklist is done.

STEP 2

Ask your doubts

Name the doubt and get a short, timed side quest. Related searches open; the timer brings you back.

STEP 3

Get caught drifting

Too long or too many pages away from the course, and AutoFocus checks in before the spiral starts.

Everything in the box

Built for the ways studying actually goes wrong.

YouTube tunnel mode

Keep the video. Lose the rabbit hole.

During a session YouTube shows search and the player only. The home feed, recommendations, Shorts, comments and autoplay disappear. Each video is checked against your goal.

The AI runs on your laptop

Unclear pages are judged by Chrome's built-in Gemini Nano, offline.

Hard to quit

Quitting takes a breath

To end early in Strict mode you type a sentence and wait out a countdown. The urge usually passes first.

AutoFocus for Mac

Close the loopholes outside the browser.

An extension only sees Chrome. The free menu bar app covers the rest of your Mac while a session runs.

  • Other browsers stay closedSafari, Firefox and Arc wait until the session ends.
  • Distracting apps stay closedDiscord, WhatsApp, Steam, games and streaming apps. You choose the list.
  • Switching the extension off doesn't workIf the extension goes quiet mid-session, Chrome is hidden until it's back.
  • Time left in your menu barStart sessions and jump back to your lesson from there.

Privacy

Nothing leaves your computer.

Your goals, searches and session history live in your browser. AutoFocus makes no network requests of its own, so there's nothing to leak and nothing to sell.

FAQ

Questions students ask first.

Does it block the whole internet?
No. Your course site is always open, references like Stack Overflow and docs are always fine, and searches that match your goal go straight through. Only clear distractions and off-goal pages are held.
What if I genuinely need YouTube?
Search and watch normally. Tunnel mode hides the feed, recommendations, Shorts and autoplay, and checks each video's title against your goal. When the video ends, you get one button: back to course.
Do I need the AI for it to work?
No. Most decisions come from the offline keyword engine. Chrome's on-device model only steps in for unclear cases. Without it, Strict mode asks you how a page helps, and saves your answer to your doubts list.
Is my browsing sent anywhere?
No. Everything is decided on your device and stored in your browser. There are no accounts, servers or analytics.
Can I end a session early?
Yes. Gentle mode asks once. Strict asks you to type a sentence and wait 30 seconds; Lockdown waits two minutes. It's meant to slow down the impulse, not trap you.
Windows, Safari, phones?
The extension works in Chromium browsers on any desktop. The companion app is Mac-only for now. Safari and phones aren't supported yet.
